This time we invite you to attend the museum on Friday, October 31, during the technical school board session indicated by the SEP, for a day of recreational guided tours and artistic activities inspired by the museum's exhibitions. From 10:00 in the morning to 2:00 in the afternoon, the participants, accompanied by the museum's mediators, will explore the current exhibitions, Spirits in the Swamp, Alien Queen/Strange Paradise and Archaic Futures.

Responding to these exhibitions, the topics to be addressed during the day will revolve around the representation of identity in contemporary art through portraits and masks; as well as the various sensory and bodily possibilities involved in the appreciation of works of art. At the same time, we will work on artistic skills that will expand the participants' range of creative and expressive resources, as follows:

  • Starting from Alien Queen/ Strange Paradise by Manuela Solano (Mexico City, 1987): Production of contemporary self-portraits incorporating pop references; exercising the use of sinuous lines in drawing, collage with paint and observation drawing and drawing from memory.
  • Starting from Spirits in the Swamp by Oscar Murillo (Colombia, 1986): Realization of large format drawings based on body movements; exercising gross motor coordination, the creation of visual rhythms and collective work.
  • Starting from Lagarto y Desarmadillo by Damián Ortega (Mexico City, 1967), exhibited at Archaic Futures: Creation of zoomorphic masks with diverse materials; exercising creative thinking, problem solving and introspective reflection.
