Jazz Night presents: Miguel Chuck Rodríguez
The museum will hold another edition of its Jazz Nights program, which will feature Miguel Chuck Rodríguez in August. With original themes, the artist will present The Cubist, their first production. Emerged in the context of the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 health crisis, this work has been presented at forums such as El Salvador Jazz Fest, Fortaleza Brasil (in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo), the JAZZUV festival (Xalapa, Veracruz), the Festival of the Historic Center of Mexico City, the Fine Arts Jazz Festival and the Polanco Jazz Festival.
During this performance, they accompany Miguel Chuck (electric bass), the musicians Roberto Verástegui (keyboard), Diego Franco (saxophone) and Hiram Griss (drums).
Miguel Chuck Rodríguez began his musical studies in 1990. During his training process, he studied double bass at the Escuela Libre de Música and with Rich Appleman —coordinator of the bass department at the Berklee College of Music— during his stay in Mexico in the late nineties. He has attended different educational programs and workshops at universities such as McGill and Concordia in Canada and interacted with national and international musicians, to name a few: Marc Berthoumieux, Osmany Paredes, Damien Schmitt, Jeff Cofn, Tom Coster, Gabriel Hernandez, Hans Tammen, Ursel Urslicht, Dave Turner and Ollan Christopher Bell.
