Jazz Nights is a program with more than 20 years of experience dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of jazz in Mexico City. Throughout this time, it has established itself as a platform that offers musical experiences for audiences interested in contemporary art and music. Roberto Blanco Martínez is a pianist and composer, born in Mexico City; he was raised in a family whose profession is music; he receives his first lessons from his parents and adopts the piano as his instrument. Later he trained in modern harmony and jazz with Professor Antonio Bravo and in composition with Vincent Carver from the United Kingdom, solfeggio and both classical and modern harmony with the Cuban master Enrique Ricardo Portales.

Roberto Blanco Martinez. Pianist and composer born in Mexico City to a family whose profession is music. He received his first lessons from his parents and adopted the piano as his instrument. Later he trained in modern harmony and jazz with Professor Antonio Bravo, in composition with Vincent Carver in the United Kingdom, as well as in solfeggio and harmony, both classical and modern, with the Cuban master Enrique Ricardo Portales.

Blanco Martínez has developed a taste for jazz, its styles and its freedoms, for the forms derived from it, as well as for music based on improvisation.

He has played in various jazz forums and clubs throughout Mexico: Blue Monk, El Zinco, El 81, Jazzatlán in Puebla; El Havana, in Baja California Sur; DADA in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas. He has performed at festivals such as the Liga Mac Jazz Festival in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, (2007), the Los Cabos Jazz Festival (BCS, 2008), the Jazz Festival in Mazunte, Oaxaca, (2010), the Hermosillo Jazz Festival, Sonora (2013), the Jazz Mex Festival, Mexico City (2013), the Spontaneous Jazz Festival, in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas (2013), the Jaro Jazz, Veracruz (2013), at Jazz Nights at the Tamayo Museum, Mexico City (2014), others. He has given concerts on radio, on the well-known station “Horizonte” 107.9 FM and on Radio UNAM, at 860 AM.

In 2012, Roberto Blanco recorded with the Blanch-Cupich-Nandayapa project. The album contains songs written by him and by double bass player Israel Cupich. In 2025 he made two productions: Organizer Trio, with Hans Ávila and Roberto Cobos, and with his quintet he made the album “Vibrante”, in which all the songs, except “Vera Lin” (by Ania Brezinska), are his own.

Roberto Blanco Organizer Trio will perform with Roberto Blanco on organ, Pedro Cervera on drums, Diego Franco on saxophone and Jacob Wick on trumpet.
